About Me
I became interested photography over 30 years ago shooting with film as well as learning to develop my own film and prints in a darkroom. I had noticed many portrait photographers to be cliche with how they shot, so I became more interested in shooting aesthetically pleasing portraiture which captured each individuals best angle whilst still being natural and engaging. I believe that there has to be a real and natural connection between a person and the camera. I like to make people look their best by finding their most flattering angles and expressions as well as paying attention to detail. Additionally, I know what it's like to be in front of a camera as I have had to get headshots done for myself. I have a very relaxed approach to my shoots and clients often tell me that they felt very relaxed during the shoot and that I am very easy to work with. Importantly, I "listen" to what the client's needs are!
One of my areas of expertise is headshots. I myself am an actor and I have had to get headshots done, however I found that while there are many great portrait photographers out there, they unfortunately don't really know the acting industry. I have had the opportunity to pick the brains of many Casting Directors about what they like to see in a headshot and what type of headshots they would bypass, so I have inside knowledge on the acting industry. Several talent agents have liked my work and I am currently exclusively shooting the headshots for a Melbourne talent agent. I also understand the corporate world and I can work around busy schedules, arranging a shoot accordingly. In addition to photography, I have expanded into corporate video and short film production. I having shot numerous corporate videos and edited short films that have won numerous awards in Los Angeles. More recently I shot and edited a short documentary on the Australian music industry which was very well received by industry professionals. |
